Tom has more than twenty-five years of experience in structured settlements: he worked in CNA’s "in house" structured settlement program in the early 1980s, was a structured settlement consultant for a dozen years with a Texas-based firm, and was a Director in the structured settlement operation of Allstate Life Insurance Company for five years, where he held a variety of responsibilities. He joined Brant Hickey & Associates in November of 2001.

Tom is experienced in structuring a wide variety of cases, including general liability, product liability, workers compensation, medical malpractice, municipal liability, and “taxable tort” cases, such as employment claims. He designs and effectively presents well thought out settlement plans that address the needs of injured plaintiffs, maximize the value of defense settlement dollars, and get cases closed.

Mr. Gutowski is a member of The National Structured Settlements Trade Association and has earned the designation of Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) from Notre Dame University.
