Tom worked in CNA’s "in house" structured settlement program in the early 1980s, was a structured settlement consultant for a dozen years with a Texas-based firm, and was a Director in the structured settlement operation of Allstate Life Insurance Company for five years. He joined Brant Hickey & Associates in November of 2001.

Tom has experience in structuring a wide variety of cases, including general liability, product liability, workers compensation, medical malpractice, municipal liability, and “taxable tort” cases, such as employment claims. He designs and effectively presents well thought out settlement plans that address the needs of injured claimants, maximize the value of defense settlement dollars, and get cases closed.

Tom is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Northern Illinois University and the University of Chicago, and holds several advanced degrees. He is a long-standing member of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association, and has earned the following financial industry designations: Certified Structured Settlement Consultant, Associate in Risk Management, and Certified Financial Planner™.
